Selective Masochism?

I just thought of an odd concept. A friend said he liked being hated by certain people.
(Bua, I know you ain't reading this. It's a blog... by me. No one's reading it.) (I love you, 8 followers, even though I know you aren't here most of the time) 


So, if you like being hated, then you must be a masochist. No one else would like being hated or any of the pains that come with it.
But if you like being hated by certain people.... would that be.... selective masochism?
